After sitting out due to injury and making a remarkable comeback in IPL 2024 , left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav showcased his prowess by clinching 3 wickets for 20 runs, steering Delhi Capitals to a convincing six-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow.
In the match between LSG and DC, he performed exceptionally well, earning the title of Player of the Match. Kuldeep’s spell was crucial in keeping LSG to a meager 167/7 in 20 overs. Kuldeep’s devious deliveries took advantage of Marcus Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran, and LSG captain KL Rahul.
While speaking Kuldeep Yadav said, “It was an important win because we have lost two games before this. We had a great batting performance at Wankhede, but we were unable to win because of our poor finishing. Getting wickets in the middle overs (overs 8–9) is crucial for the team’s performance. Every wicket was crucial to the team’s performance and to my self-assurance.”
He further added, “It was a good ball, proper googly, it pitched on a good length, and spun. Fortunately, the ball pitched brilliantly, allowing me to take the wicket. My aim was to bowl that delivery and set the field appropriately. Since you rejoice when you get a wicket off a good delivery, you should have celebrated because it was a nice ball.”
